Fed: Latest asylum seekers to be moved by airforce today =2

Mr Ruddock said authorities were already aware of other boatloads of asylum seekers
on their way to Australia.

"We certainly are aware of other intending movement," he said.

The size of the latest group was exceeded only by a boatload of illegal arrivals taken
into immigration detention on November 1, 1999, when a vessel carrying 353 people was
seized off Ashmore reef.

Their arrival took to 2,834 the number of asylum-seekers and crew to arrive this year,
compared with the total of 2,939 for all of 2000.
